Sule names twins after Buhari, Al-Makura

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has named his set of twins after President Muhammadu Buhari and former governor Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura.
The first was named Mohammed Shamsudeen, reflecting President Muhammadu Buhari and the second one was named Umar Faruq, reflecting the ex-governor and lawmaker representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District, Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura.
Sule took a second wife in 2019, a few weeks to his inauguration as the fourth democratically-elected governor of the state. Last week, she was delivered of two male twins.
The naming ceremony took place on Tuesday at the palace of the governor’s father in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government.
Governor Sule said he named them after President Buhari and Senator Al-Makura because of the recognition and respect he had for the two leaders.

He promised to continue to champion the quest for better education for children.
Addressing reporters, House of Assembly Speaker Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, who led other members to the ceremony, prayed God to give the twins sound health, adding that they should bring more blessings to the family and the state.
Describing children as special gifts from God, he urged parents to give special attention to their education and upbringing, to build an egalitarian society
The Emir of Lafia, retired Justice Sidi Bage, who described twins as blessings, prayed God to give them good health, prosperity and make them grow to be good citizens.
The naming ceremony, conducted by Mallam Mohammed Awal Musa Dandaura, the chief imam of Gudi, featured special prayers for the children, leaders, the state and the country.
The colourful event had in attendance Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe and Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, among others.
