BBNaija Shine Ya Eye housemate, White Money, has said that he is happy about Maria’s eviction from the house.

White Money said this during his diary session on Tuesday.

According to White Money, he was shocked by Maria’s eviction because he saw her as a strong contender.

He said that he could understand Sammie and JMK’s eviction but he did not see Maria’s eviction coming.

He, however, expressed his happiness about her eviction because she was always a strong contender whom he would like to see leave for him to remain in the house.

White Money further said that he would evict Boma and Liquorose if he had the power to.

BBNaija Shine Ya Eye ex-housemate, Jumoke Adedoyin, alias JMK, has revealed that she was attracted to Cross while in the house.

JMK disclosed this to Ebuka Obi Uchendu during her post-eviction interview.

JMK further said that she shared a few kisses with Cross while in the house.

In her words:

“I was attracted to Cross, nothing serious happened with him. We always danced together and had a few kisses here and there.”

She further said that Boma was getting closer to Angel just as a strategy.

“Boma will come to the lounge and say what will be my highlight for this week? Before you know it, he would start moving to Angel,” she said.

Fuel Scarcity Hits Imo Again As Tanker Drivers Embark On Strike

BREAKING: FG Reduces Petrol Price To N130 — Fuel Pump

Residents of Imo State woke up on Tuesday to another round of fuel scarcity.

Information Nigeria gathered that while many filling stations claimed they had no petrol, others were selling at exorbitant price of N250 a little.

This is coming after three day strike embarked upon by independent marketers in the state over the demolition of the filling station of one of their members by the previous administration in the state.

The strike had been called off on Friday last week after a public outcry over scarcity and outrageous price of petroleum products as a result of the strike.

A litre of Premium Motor Spirit sold as high as N700 during the strike.

It was gathered that the current scarcity of petrol in the state was a result of tanker drivers resolving not to convey petrol to Imo State as a way of protesting the suspension of the strike by the independent marketers.

Masari Bans Transportation Of Cattle From Katsina To Other States

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari has issued an executive order banning the movement of cattle from the state to other parts of the country.

The governor issued the executive order on Monday.

Masari also ordered the total closure of the Jibia-Gurbin Baure road to motorists while the Kankara-Sheme road was closed to commercial vehicles.

He also banned the sale of petrol in jerricans to motorists at filling stations.

According to the governor, the measures are to contain the security challenges bedevilling the state.

The enforcement is to come into effect on August 31.

The governor’s directive reads: “In the exercise of powers conferred upon me by the Subsection (2) of section 176 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended and all other powers enabling me on that behalf, I, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari CFR, the Governor of Katsina State, do hereby make the following:

“This Notice may be cited as the Security Challenges (Containment) Order and shall come into effect on the 31st day of August 2021;

“Immediate total closure of Jibia-Gurbin Baure road to all motorists until further notice. Travelers plying that road are advised to go through Funtua;

“Immediate closure of Kankara-Sheme road to all commercial vehicles, who are advised to go through Funtua. Only private non-commercial vehicles are to ply the road;

“Lorries /Trucks carrying firewood from the bush are totally banned;

“Suspension of the sale of all animals at the markets of the following Local Government Areas: Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Malumfashi, Charanchi, Mai’adua, Kafur, Kafur, Faskari, Sabuwa, Baure, Dutsinma and Kaita;

“Ban on transportation of cattle trucks from Katsina State to any State in Nigeria;

“Total ban on carrying three (3) persons on motorcycles and more than three (3) passengers on a tricycle;

” Total ban on the sale of second-hand motorcycles at Charanchi market

“Re-enforcement of the ban on the operation of Commercial tricycles and motorcycles from 10.00 p.m to 6.00 a.m in the State Capital, and 6.00 p.m to 6.00 a.m in the frontline Local Government Areas; Re-enforcement of the total ban on the sale of petrol in jerricans at filling stations.”

Nigeria Is Sinking, Mbaka Speaks On Rising Insecurity

The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka, has expressed that Nigeria is sinking.

Speaking during a service at his church, Mbaka described the recent attack on the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) as a preamble.

He stated that if President Muhammadu Buhari did not take drastic steps to address the situation, things might get worse.

“Did you not hear that, bandits entered into our most secured place in this country, Nigerian Defence Academy? The NDA, the impenetrable place in Nigeria and killed some Nigerian military officers.”

“And people are still talking of Father Mbaka and Adoration. And some Catholics are still attacking the worship of Blessed Sacrament through adoration; what are they going there to do? The country is sinking just as I told them last time.

“The arrest of Nnamdi Kanu; will it solve any problem? Will it stop any agitation? Now, the attack on the NDA; is it Nnamdi Kanu now?

“Is it not better he is released? Since he is still under their custody and NDA could be perforated, violated and mesmerised, what is the hope of this country if it can happen in Nigeria Defence Academy? Where else is safe?

“As I told you people last two months that what you are seeing is just the beginning of the trouble and that the main trouble is coming. This one that they did (NDA attack) is just the elementary part of it. The secondary part of it is still coming.

“I am only asking God to intervene because what is happening in Afghanistan right now; if God is not ready to help us, Nigeria’s situation will be worse in the future. You are free to attack Father Mbaka and criticise me, that one is your problem.

“I am doing my prophetic work, and I don’t need apology or affirmation or support or approval from anybody apart from the Holy Spirit who sent me on this risky assignment. Even if I want to stop it, I can’t even stop it,” he said.

Why I Was Rejected By 2 Hospitals Despite Being In Labour – Basketmouth’s Wife, Elsie Okpocha

Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, alias Basketmouth‘s wife, Elsie Okpocha, has disclosed how she was rejected by two hospitals while in labour.

Elsie took to her Instagram page to share her story on the day she put to bed.

She shared that the first hospital she was taken to was a hospital she had earlier registered in but was still rejected because she did not do her antenatal with them.

She wrote a lengthy caption that reads:

“My Little Miracle…..so let me share my testimony with you. So on the day I put to birth, I was rejected by 2 hospitals(I had registered in one of them ) even though labour had started and my contractions were happening every 2minutes, their reason was that I hadn’t done my antenatal with them so they didn’t want to take me in case there was an emergency,

So after 40mins of driving back and forth, I was eventually admitted to Reddington Hospital in VI, I can only thank God it was midnight so there was no traffic, so while in the labour room, my water broke and I had a cord Prolapse…. (Never heard of it until that day)

So a Cord Prolapse is when the cord comes out of the uterus before the baby, when this happens, it can result in a loss of oxygen to the baby, and may even result in a stillbirth.

But God was gracious, he was kind, he didn’t let the Devil win…. When I saw the Doctor and Nurses Panic, I knew Something was wrong, in that moment of fear, I started to declare life for myself and my baby, thankfully God came through as always.

Fortunately the Doctor knew the emergency steps to take to keep my baby alive while they prepared me for an emergency CS, the CS doctor arrived in good time and I had my baby who is well and alive. Thank you Lord.”

BREAKING: Akeredolu Signs Anti-Open Grazing Bill Into Law

Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has signed into law the Anti-Grazing Bill passed by the State House of Assembly.

The assent to the bill by the Governor is coming a few days after the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari that 368 grazing sites across the 25 states of the country should be reviewed.

Recall that the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Donald Ojogo on Monday, revealed that Akeredolu would sign the anti-open grazing bill to law on Tuesday.

BREAKING: CBN Orders Banks To Publish Names, BVN Of Forex Defaulters

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed all banks to publish names of customers who try to break the rules on Forex acquisition on their website.

In a circular issued by the on Tuesday, the bank outlined the fraudulent practices to include the use of fake visas and cancellation of air tickets after purchase of Personal Travel Allowance and Business Travel Allowance

The bank said the new directive was given to curb the unwholesome conduct of some unscrupulous customers who are trying to circumvent its new forex policy.

The circular which was addressed to all banks was titled, “Publication of names of Defaulters of a CBN policy on sale of Forex for PTA/BTA” and signed by the bank’s Director, Banking Supervision Department, Haruna Mustafa.

The circular read in full, “ The CBN has received and noted with concern reports of sharp practices by some unscrupulous customers to circumvent the new CBN policy on the sale of forex for overseas personal and business travel.

“Some of these unwholesome practices include the use of fake visas and cancellation of air tickets after purchase of PTA/BTA. This trend, if not curbed, portends risk to the integrity and stability of the forex market.

“Consequently, further to the various measures already put in place, all banks are hereby directed to publish on their websites the names and BVN of defaulting customers who present fake travel documents or cancel their tickets and fail to return the purchased PTA/BTA within two (weeks) as stipulated in the customer declaration form signed by them.”

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, yesterday, sacked all his Commissioners, Senior Special Advisers and Special Assistants in the state.

Sule who announced the dissolution of the state executive council, thanked the commissioners and the aides for their sacrifices and contributions to the successes recorded by his administration.

The dissolution has laid to rest rumours of eminent cabinet dissolution that filled the air in recent time.

Sources close to Lafia Government House told Vanguard that some of his kitchen cabinets members would be reappointed.

It is not very clear when the new commissioners would be appointed, but it was gathered that appointment of the new commissioners may be carried out before the local government elections slated for October 6, 2021.

Corpse Of Missing 13-Year-Old Mentally Challenged Boy Recovered From Well

The corpse of a 13-year-old mentally challenged boy, who went missing on Saturday in Danzomo village, Suletankarkar Local Government of Jigawa, has been recovered.

This is contained in a statement by ASP Lawan Shiisu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Jigawa Police Command, in Dutse, on Tuesday.

Shiisu the corpse of the deceased, identified as Gambo Yusuf, was recovered in an open well at about 12.30 p.m..

”On Aug. 29, at about 0740hrs, a man, Yusuf Makeri of Danzomo village Suletankarkar LGA, reported at the Danzomo police outstation that his 13-year-old son, who was mentally challenged was missing and all efforts made to trace his whereabouts failed.

“However, on Sunday, his corpse was discovered in an open well in the area,” Shiisu said.

Kano Has 2 Million Drug Addicts — NDLEA

NDLEA Chairman, retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, said on Monday in Kano that the state has about two million drug addicts, representing 16 per cent prevalence.

Marwa made the disclosure when he paid a courtesy visit to Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje.

“In Kano State, drug abuse prevalence is 16 per cent; that is, in every six persons, one is a drug addict and they are between the ages of 15 years and 64 years.

“Kano State has close to two million drug users abusing tramadol, codeine and other cough syrups, rather than cannabis.

“I will like to mention here that since I assumed leadership of NDLEA in January, we have seized over two million kilogrammes of assorted drugs, estimated at billions of Naira.

“Eight thousand people were arrested and 1,600 are now serving jail terms in correctional service facilities, and we are still working.

“Drug abuse has gone to the level of destroying our families unless is tackled with all seriousness it deserves,’’ he said.

Marwa said that the use drugs propelled criminal activities ranging from banditry, kidnapping and armed robbery, among others.

He said that NDLEA was comfortable that Kano State government was a worthy partner in tackling drug abuse.

Marwa urged the state government to make legislation that would prevent politicians from giving drugs to youths.

He also urged the government to make legislation on compulsory drug abuse test for intending couples, also as part of measures to fight against drug abuse.

The United States of America, USA has expressed its readiness to help identify sponsors of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups wreaking havoc in Nigeria.

This was disclosed on Monday by the US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Leonard during a meeting with newsmen in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

When asked what would the US do to help the country identify the sponsors of terrorism in the country, Leonard said, “That is something we are very eager to partner Nigeria on.

“I have had at least three conversations in the last two months on this subject.

“I won’t like to go into details.”

She dismissed the notion by some Nigerians that the relationship between Nigeria and the US would crash as happened in Afghanistan, stressing that the two countries have a strong bilateral relationship unlike that of Afghanistan.

She added, “I hear people making the analogy with Afghanistan a lot, it does not match up.

“When you listen to what President Biden said on how troops went to Afghanistan in the first place, it was because they were in a horrible tragedy, over 3,000 Americans were killed.

“That is a different construct. The sovereign nations who have had strong bilateral relations. I don’t actually think the two match up.”

Also speaking, the Commander, US Air Forces in Europe, General Jeffrey Harrigian, told journalists that the purchase of Tucano fighter jets was an opportunity to cement the US relationship with Nigeria as well as curbing insecurity.

He said, “The A -29 Super Tucano gives us an opportunity to reconnect our relationship with Nigeria”.

PDP: Amaechi’s Comment On ‘Quiet Stealing Under Buhari’ Vindicates Us

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of “providing cover for corrupt officials”.

The PDP was reacting to a comment by Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, that anyone stealing public funds under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is doing so “quietly”.

Speaking in a statement issued on Monday, Kola Ologbondiyan, PDP spokesman, stated that the “confession” by Amaechi vindicates the opposition party’s position on corruption in the APC.

“The confession by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, that stealing is going on quietly under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC), vindicates its stand that the APC is a haven of thieves and treasury looters,” the statement reads.

“The party asserts that the confession also further confirms that the Buhari-led APC administration has been providing official cover for corrupt officials, who have turned government agencies to cash cows and Automated Teller Machines (ATM) for themselves, their cronies, family members and mistresses.

“The situation as presented by Amaechi shows that ‘quiet stealing’ is a policy of the APC administration. This explains why the administration is heavy on propaganda and has failed to prosecute its officials and APC leaders openly indicted for corruption, but only resort to “easing out” such thieves with a pat on the wrist.”

Repentant Insurgents: Lawan Calls For Caution, Says Some May Not Be Genuine — Ahmad Lawan

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan has expressed that Nigerians should encourage Boko Haram fighters to surrender as the development will end the insurgency in the north-east.

He made this appeal on Monday when he visited Abubakar El-Kanemi, Shehu of Borno, at his palace in Maiduguri.

Lawan stated that the repentant insurgents who do not have a case to answer should be reintegrated into society.

The senate president stated that the federal government will continue to work with the Borno government to ensure that peace and stability are restored in the state.

“I want to take this opportunity to mention that the federal government of Nigeria will continue to work with the Borno state government to ensure that there is restoration of peace and stability in this state and in this part of the country,” he said.

“The recent surrender by Boko Haram elements is a good development for the security of this country.

“Personally I believe that the federal government must work with the Borno state government and other states in this part of the country to ensure that those that have been received are appropriately processed.

“Those that have no issues to answer are sanitised and taken back to their communities.

“Those that may have issues to answer should be taken through the legal process but we must ensure that we encourage Boko Haram elements and those they have taken by force to come out to surrender so that this unnecessary insurgency placed on us comes to an end.

“I want to assure you, your royal highness, that the national assembly and particularly the senate will work very closely with the Borno state government in this respect.”

Osinbajo: Like Mandela, Leaders Must Be Ready To Risk Their Popularity To Promote Peace

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has expressed that Nigerian leaders must be ready to risk their popularity — like Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s first black president — to promote peace in the country.

He stated this while speaking when he received a delegation of the Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC), on Monday.

Osinbajo stated that leaders must understand the value of respectful non-violent communication in ensuring that conflicts do not degenerate into violence.

The vice-president advised leaders to emulate Mandela and Abdullahi Abubakar — a cleric who saved over 200 Christians during a religious crisis in Plateau state in 2018 — in using their positions to address ethno-religious crises in the country.

“Those sacrifices are sacrifices, even in what you say, how you say it, and then sacrifices also in the acknowledgment of whatever people are saying and the willingness to accept,” Osinbajo said, according to a statement by Laolu Akande, his media aide.

“It is very important that we don’t diminish the importance of language and respectful non-violent communication so that we are able to keep our discussions at a level that ensures that we don’t degenerate too quickly to violence.

“We can all talk nicely and say the right things, but unless people are prepared to make some concessions which may cost them popularity within their own group, we cannot move forward.

“These are stories of people who are not only political or religious leaders but just ordinary people, doing the right thing. Unless we are prepared to not just talk about it but to make an open display, first of all, of those who are doing the right things.

“But more importantly, challenging our leaders to say the right things and to be prepared to risk some popularity in order to do so, then we will just be wasting a lot of time.”

Gunmen Invade Winners Chapel; Kidnap Members

Unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked a branch of Living Faith Church Worldwide at Osara community, along Lokoja-Okene road in Adavi Local Government Council of Kogi State.

It was gathered that the kidnappers, who invaded the church premises when some of its members were rehearsing during the weekend, abducted at least three members.

The assailants were said to have stormed the area, shooting sporadically to scare away interveners before whisking the victims to an unknown destination.

The Chairman of Adavi Local Government Council, Joseph Omuya Salami, confirmed the development to newsmen on Monday evening through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Habeeb Jamiu.

According to him, the chairman had visited the scene in company of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Osara Division since the incident occured.

Habeeb Jamiu added that the council was working with security agents in the area to ensure that the victims are rescued unhurt.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Williams Ovye Aya, had not answered calls for comment as at press time.

BBNaija Shine Ya Eye housemate, Pere, has said that Maria was the life of the show.

Pere blurted this out while talking with fellow housemates, Yousef and Boma, after the live eviction show on Sunday.

As Boma and Yousef were chatting about Maria, Pere looked sad and withdrawn.

The only thing he said was, “That girl was literally the life of this house.”

“I’m not scared for Maria. I’ve worked closely with Maria. I used to work as her deputy,” Boma said.

Boma asked if he was speaking about Maria and he replied in the positive.

“I was really close with Maria. Yea, I was. I was really close with Maria. I was a big fan of Maria. When you go outside, you’re going to know. ‘Cause you’re going to know who’s close to you. I’ve told her, I would not carry my okro close to you,” Boma said.

As Pere still looked sad and was quiet, the guys tried to cheer him up to get over Maria’s eviction.

The openly lesbian singer gave her reason for this.

Temmie Ovwasa stated that it’s because she doesn’t want her kid to end up becoming a heterosexual.

The singer also known as YBNL Princess made this known in an Instagram post on Sunday.

“There are so many reasons I don’t want to have kids, but on top of that list is my heterophobia. Imagine gathering money to find a sperm donor, to have a child and that child turns out to be a heterosexual, a heterosexual in my home,” she said.
